The American Legion Auxiliary seeks a VISTA Team Leader to serve with our Call to Service Corps. The position, located in Washington, DC, is full-time, full-year, with a service term beginning as soon as September 2013. The ALA Call to Service Corps is comprised of 75 AmeriCorps VISTA and AmeriCorps National members assigned to nearly 30 organizations nationwide.

The VISTA Team Leader plays a substantive role in coordinating the overall project effort, with a particular focus on member support and progress reporting. The position provides a great learning experience for an individual interested in a career in organization operations or volunteer management.

Prior service as a VISTA member is required in order to receive the VISTA Leader living allowance level. However, ALA will accept applications from individuals with AmeriCorps or AmeriCorps NCCC experience, or at least two years experience in a project coordination position.

Opportunities to serve through the ALA Call to Service Corps are available to all, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, political affiliation, marital or parental status, or military service. Veterans and relatives of veterans and military service members are encouraged to apply.
