We are currently recruiting for Budget Analyst  within GSA’s Office of Chief Financial Officer with rotational opportunities throughout GSA’s offices and business lines:

Location: New York, NY, Philadelphia PA, Boston MA, and Chicago IL 

 As Budget Analyst you will learn the scope and foundation of GSA budget and financial management responsibilities and assist fully trained budget analysts and/or budget officers with day-to-day operations. These will include:

  • Performing a variety of technical duties of budget and program analysis work.

  • Working with a senior analyst, performing budget work for designated segments of major budget accounts. This includes expenditures related to salaries, travel, training, operating and administrative expenses and capital, project expenditures.

  • Under the guidance of senior level Budget Analyst, developing and formulating the annual budget request for the coming fiscal year, furnishing basic assistance to managers in formulating, developing, coordinating, and integrating budgetary and financial management requirements. 

  • Serving as a liaison between program managers and their representatives, the budget division and/or other staff office connected with the budgetary and financial management process.

  • Provide assistance to managers and staff in the correct methods and procedures to be followed in the preparation of their respective budget estimates and financial management for the activities for which they are responsible.

  • Reviews financial information including estimates submitted by program managers for compliance with rules, regulations and established procedures.

  • Provides budgetary assistance for less complex areas of fund requirements during preparation of annual and quarterly Financial Management Program Plans.

  • Reviews manual and computerized financial reporting and tracking systems to ensure that they meet current operation needs, and completes narrative and statistical material and background information concerning the organization's budget and related programs as necessary and as requested by management.
