Teach Western Mass is hiring a full-time Manager of Recruitment & Marketing to coordinate and execute talent operations, including a comprehensive recruitment campaign, marketing and communications, data management, and candidate cultivation for Teach Western Mass.  The Program Manager of Recruitment & Marketing will also ensure resources and materials are coordinated across the various initiatives of the organization. 

The ideal candidate has experience with recruitment and marketing and is passionate about ensuring equitable access to high-quality schools for all students.

Who We Are

Teach Western Mass is a nonprofit organization that works in partnership with local district schools, charter schools, and institutions of higher education to bring more high-quality, diverse educators into our region’s most high-need schools. Collectively, Teach Western Mass represents 29 schools that service more than 11,000 students in the region.

What We Offer

Teach Western Mass offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000. 

 

We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering 75% of the employee and spouse/dependent premium for the base medical plan. Other benefits include dental plan, disability, life insurance, unlimited PTO, and a Simple IRA option with employer matching. 

 

We offer employees the ability to work remotely when they do not have in-person commitments.

What You’ll Do

The Manager of Recruitment & Marketing will report to the  Director of Recruitment & Partnerships and work closely with colleagues on the Recruitment & Partnerships Team, and other partners to design and implement a talent acquisition strategy that supports Teach Western Mass’s partner schools as well as Teach Western Mass’s own teacher training programs. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Set vision and goals for annual recruitment campaign and manage day-to-day implementation of Teach Western Mass’ recruitment strategy to ensure recruitment and hiring targets are met

  • Work collaboratively with the Recruitment & Partnerships Team to identify recruitment needs at partner schools and tailor recruitment efforts to ensure these schools have the supports they need to hire high-quality, diverse teachers

  • Develop and manage marketing strategy for Teach Western Mass 

  • Ensure there is coordinated branding across all Teach Western Mass programs and marketing materials that provide easy access for prospective teachers to understand the best path for them to become an educator in Western Massachusetts

  • Execute day-to-day talent acquisition activities for Teach Western Mass including posting and refreshing job opportunities on job boards, managing all social media postings, managing job postings on the Teach Western Mass website, and other relevant tasks

  • Oversee execution of Teach Western Mass hiring fairs, providing direct support where needed; attend selected external hiring fairs as needed

  • Participate in diversity initiatives designed to increase the number of high-quality teachers of color serving students in TWM partner schools

  • Support and/or lead network-wide talent strategy working group meetings, to further develop and support partner schools’ staffing capacity 

  • Work collaboratively with other Teach Western Mass staff to develop the metrics to better match the supply of Teach Western Mass pathways programs with the demand of partner school talent needs

  • Work collaboratively with other Teach Western Mass staff to design and execute a data strategy that measures partner school effectiveness with hiring and Teach Western Mass effectiveness in supporting those schools

  • Support the execution of candidate selection and screening processes, ensuring Teach Western Mass is converting high potential applicants through each step of the hiring process

  • Develop and manage strategy for targeting candidate referrals to school partners with open positions, working collaboratively with the Recruitment & Partnerships Team

  • Work to identify gaps in capacity and engage outside consultants and/or interns as needed, including managing this added capacity 

  • Support with other Recruitment & Partnerships Team work streams as needed

Who You Are

The ideal Manager of Recruitment & Marketing candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and is eager to be a key part of a passionate, hard-working team. Specific qualifications include:

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience; ideally, experience in the nonprofit sector and/or with staffing/recruitment/marketing

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and an eagerness to work towards creative solutions to challenges that might arise

  • Self-directed with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams effectively

  • Comfort and ability to work collaboratively in a virtual environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • A commitment to Teach Western Mass’ core values and mission, including equity and antiracism

  • This position is based in Western Massachusetts, and will require regional travel.  Proximity to our location is preferred.
